AGARTALA: Tripura University is interested to have teacher and student exchange with institutions of higher education in Bangladesh, Vice Chancellor of the institution Professor Anjan Kumar Ghosh said here today.
Addressing the inaugural event of a two-day workshop on India Bangladesh border and cross border relations at the Agartala Press Club today, Professor Ghosh said that Bangladesh has been a close partner to Tripura and India at large.
“We have to develop a strong and vibrant cultural relationship with our neighbouring country”, he said.
The workshop was organized jointly with the Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change and Development and in association with the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
The event had several dignitaries from Bangladesh and Japan including veteran journalist and historian Sohrab Hassan, Y Nakamura from Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan, PRofessor Bhupen Sarmah from Guwahati and other eminent scholars from across the country .
The event involved discussions on border crises, military strategies during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, anecdotes of experiences from both sides of the border on the first day.
